Education:
1992- Graduate with honors in Chemistry at the University of Torino
1997 – PhD in Chemical Sciences
Position:
1999 – present: assistant professor (“Ricercatore Universitario”) in analytical chemistry. Member of the AMAMASA team (ArchaeoMetry and Analytical Methods for hiStorical and Archaeological materials) at the Chemistry Department – University of Torino.
Research interests:
Her scientific activity is currently exclusively devoted to materials of historical, artistic and archaeological interest, with particular reference to pottery, archaeological glasses and textiles. She investigates ancient production processes, provenance and degradation of archaeological/historical artefacts by employing a set of physical-chemical analytical methods.
Her research interests are presently focused on the development of investigation procedures (possibly with a non- or a micro-invasive approach) aimed at recognising pigments and natural dyes on archaeological textiles and historical musical instruments.
Publications:
The scientific activity of dr. Gulmini is documented by articles published in international journals (Scoups Author ID: 6603828089; Orcid: http://orcid.org/0000-0002-0556-5401) and by number of oral and poster presentations at national and international congresses.
Teaching activity:
At the University of Torino, Dr. Gulmini is lecture of teaching modules focused on chemical methods for the investigation of tangible cultural heritage within bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. She is frequently supervisor for students during their bachelor’s and master’s thesis projects.
