Maurizio Aceto

 

Prof. Maurizio Aceto has a degree in Chemistry (1988) and a PhD in Chemical Sciences (1993) from Università degli Studi di Torino. Since 2017 he is Associate Professor at Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale in CHIM/01 sector, being a member of Dipartimento di Scienze e Innovazione Tecnologica in Alessandria.

Since the academic year 1997-98 he has held courses of Analytical Chemistry at Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale in the seats of Alessandria, Vercelli and Novara; from 2004-2005 to 2009-2010 he also gave courses for Università degli Studi di Torino.

The main research field of Prof. Aceto is the characterization of cultural heritage materials by means of non-invasive and micro-invasive analytical techniques, with particular reference to the identification of colourants on paintings for authentication, dating, conservation and restoration and determination of origin purposes. In this line Prof. Aceto has developed partnerships with many cultural institutions in Italy and Europe.

Since 1990 Prof. Aceto has published 71 articles on ISI journals; 7 articles on non ISI peer reviewed journals; 4 articles on not peer reviewed journals; 22 contributions to books; 22 contributions to conference proceedings. This generated 2323 citations and an H-index of 25 (Scopus 07-03-2018).
