Ecole du Louvre ; head of Department of Ancient Near East, Louvre museum 1988-2006; Mellon fellow 2013-2014 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; extensive field work in Syria, Cyprus and various other archaeological sites of the Near East; publications of final reports on same. Main areas of interest: luxury goods in the Ancient Near East and Central Asia, with particular attention to faience, ivory, precious stones; archaeology of Music; coroplastic studies.
